Copper Bits

copper bits
Copper warms up quickly. It is thought to encourage horses to salivate. A salivating horse is a more relaxed horse.  He is moving his tongue and relaxing his lower jaw. This makes it more comfortable for him to wear the bit and enhances training.

However, some trainers believe that copper encourages a horse to chew the bit. Copper bits do not last as long as Stainless Steel.
